ABOUT US

Founded in 2002, Pacific Produce began as the marketing and distribution arm of the world-class Peruvian grower Agrokasa. As a pioneer in importing Peruvian asparagus and grapes, the company quickly established itself as a trusted leader in the industry. Over time, Pacific Produce expanded its portfolio, adding avocados in 2011 and blueberries in 2018. In 2023, it entered a new chapter by becoming part of Grupo HAME, one of the largest producers of bananas, plantains, and palm oil in the world.

Pacific Produce benefits from a fully integrated supply chain, as both Agrokasa and Grupo HAME own and operate their farms and packing houses. This vertical integration allows for greater quality control, supply reliability, and the ability to customize solutions to meet the specific needs of retail customers. With over two decades of experience, Pacific Produce has developed expertise in direct retail programs, working closely with top U.S. retailers.

The company specializes in customized packaging solutions and manages logistics from key hubs in Florida, California, Texas, and New Jersey, ensuring efficient nationwide distribution.

To further strengthen its U.S. market presence, Pacific Produce has also built strong partnerships with growers in Mexico, expanding its sourcing capabilities and product availability. As a proud member of Grupo HAME Holding, Pacific Produce is the exclusive representative of Agrokasa (Peru) and Grupo HAME (Guatemala, Costa Rica and Colombia). This ensures a reliable, year-round supply of premium produce, including asparagus, blueberries, grapes, avocados, bananas, and plantains.

Founded in 1952 in Guatemala, Grupo HAME—named after its founder, Hugo Alberto Molina Espinoza—began as a cotton grower and became the world's largest individual cotton producer by 1980. In 1987, the company shifted its focus to palm oil production, marking a significant transition in its agricultural strategy.

By 1992, Grupo HAME expanded into banana production, establishing itself as Latin America's leading producer and exporter of both bananas and palm oil. In 2002, the company further expanded its banana operations by starting production in Costa Rica. Today, Grupo HAME manages around 25,000 acres of banana plantations, accounting for approximately 14% of the U.S. banana market.

Continuing its diversification, Grupo HAME began cultivating avocados and plantains in Guatemala in 2020, developing 5,000 acres for avocados and 2,400 acres for plantains. That same year, the company expanded its investments into real estate. In 2022, Grupo HAME extended its avocado operations to Colombia, now overseeing 7,500 acres dedicated to avocado production.

In 2023, as part of its strategic vision to enhance avocado supply and expand into new fruit categories, Grupo HAME acquired Agrokasa, adding grapes and blueberries to its portfolio.  This acquisition reinforces Grupo HAME’s commitment to providing a year-round supply of premium fruits while strengthening its global market presence.

Founded in 1995, Agrokasa operates in some of the most productive agricultural valleys in Peru Ica, Pisco and Barranca, specializing in asparagus, grapes, avocados, and blueberries. Agrokasa is committed to innovation, sustainability, and responsible farming practices.

As a pioneer of modern agriculture in Peru, Agrokasa was among the first to cultivate asparagus and grapes in 1995. In 2005, the company began producing avocados, initially targeting the European market. By 2011, Agrokasa became the first Peruvian company to export avocados to the U.S. Continuing its growth, Agrokasa expanded into blueberries in 2018, marking another milestone in its commitment to supplying premium fruit.

In 2021, Agrokasa completed a $24 million wastewater recovery project in Ica, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Peru, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable water management and long-term agricultural resilience. The company continues to expand, with a recent investment aimed at doubling its production of grapes, avocados, blueberries, and asparagus.

Today, Agrokasa owns and operates approximately 14,800 acres (6,000 hectares) in Peru. The company strategically focuses on complementing the U.S. market by supplying fresh produce during off-seasons when local production is unavailable.
